Coordinated School Health

The SWAT (Stop With All Tobacco) team paired with the WCMS Art Department to uphold the law and not purchase tobacco products. Kick Butts Day was March 23, 2011. They entered a contest to show that life can be "cut short" by using tobacco products. Great job guys! They could win up to $400 for the art department!!
The SWAT team is practicing their play, "The Adventures of BIG MOUTH & CIGGY"
The SWAT (Stop With All Tobacco) team members are students who were chosen based on teacher recommendations as well as a written essay about anti-tobacco use. These students travel to all White County elementary schools teaching 3rd grade students the detrimental effects of smoking.

Coordinated School Health (CSH) is an effective system designed to connect health (physical, emotional and social) with education. This coordinated approach improves students' health and their capacity to learn through the support of families, communities and schools working together. The Office of Coordinated School Health works with many partners to address school health priorities.
The Coordinated School Health (CSH) model is a method of connecting health and learning that consists of eight inter-related components. This approach constitutes a systems change by improving students' health and their capacity to learn through personal responsibility, and the support of families, communities and school.
By definition all Coordinated School Health Components work together to improve the lives of students and their families. Although these components are listed separately, it is their composite which allows CSH to have significant impact.
